My YouTube channel is going to be changing as of April 1st. It’ll still be a BookTube, but it’s going to be a different sort of BookTube- a book-inspired fashion channel.
Friday’s Katniss outfit video was such a blast to film and decided what I was going to do with this channel. I want it to grow and be amazing, and to do that, I feel the need for a specific niche. I’ve always loved fashion, and, as y’all know, books. So combining the two just works for me, and I get super excited thinking about the possibilities for this idea.
The blog is still going to be pretty much the same. I’ll still be doing reviews, tags, etc. In addition to what I currently do, I’ll be posting the video for each bookish outfit along with a full list of links each time I do one of those videos. So, although the YouTube channel is going to be changing, the blog won’t see much change at all.
Thank you guys for your support!
I sit on the plush grey couch, sipping a grande latte from Starbucks, as I watch the cars through the large, sweeping windows. The sound of water, soft and beautiful, reaches my ears from the elegant pond inside the hotel lobby.
I take another sip of coffee, letting the taste of it coat my tongue and slide down my throat, waking up my tired body. Looking to my left, I see my father and brother, laughing at something on my brother’s phone. It’s peaceful, all of this, so I think I’ll write it down.
Just something that needed describing this morning, and I thought I’d share it. 🙂
Writing basically requires music. I find it so much easier to get words on the page when I’m listening to a wonderful soundtrack. Here’s a few of my faves.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Can we just acknowledge that Klaus Badelt is AMAZING? I love this soundtrack so so so much.
2. Doctor Who
This soundtrack, composed mostly by Murray Gold, is just as good as the show itself. Especially seasons 5 and 7. “The Long Song” is beautiful.
3. The Hunger Games/Catching Fire/Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2
James Newton Howard is a fantastic composer with multiple soundtracks to his name. I’ve only recently fallen in love with these, but they’re stunning. And the Rebel remix of “The Hanging Tree” is the perfect morning perk-me-up.
Another James Newton Howard. It’s mysterious, dark, and also pleasant right when it needs to be. It’s perfect, since it covers all aspects of writing: the intense scenes, the downtime, and even those romantic scenes that are such fun.
5. La Légende du Roi Arthur
This is a French musical, so it has words. But even so, I’m pretty sure I wrote a good deal of Captain Guinevere with this soundtrack.
Throne of Glass. This series has been on my radar since I started watching BookTube, and I finally got around to starting it.
To be honest, I don’t know what I was expecting. But it was certainly a great book, and I’m super excited about continuing the series.
The characters were the best part. Which is usually the reason I like most books.
Celaena was awesome. She was totally amazing and unafraid of pretty much everything. I loved Dorian- he was my favorite- and was fun to see Chaol interact with Celaena.
And for the romance, I can’t decide who to ship Celaena with. Seriously.
(I have a Hunger Games GIF for everything)
I think I ship Dorian/Celaena, but it would be interesting to see her with Chaol.
Highly recommend, especially for fantasy lovers.
